Apple Vs Google rivalry is not new to anyone. But it has taken a new turn with Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass. If you are having difficulty deciding which one should you chose, then we will help you choose. And if you don’t know what both are, then here we will tell about them briefly.

Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass: Which One is Better?

Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass

Netflix style subscription model is like by many. That is why it is adopted by many companies. Companies offer you services for a specific time against your subscription. If you don’t pay, you can’t use the services. Microsoft Games Pass and EA’s Origin Access is one of the examples of such services. You pay a monthly fee and you can play the selective games from the library of the apps.

Apple came with the idea of Apple Arcade and announced back in March that there would be a service you could play dozens of games across different devices for just $5 a month. It is a nice offer and people liked it a lot. Apple Arcade was launched on September 21, 2019. Google didn’t do any announcement of the kind. On August 1, 2019, there were leaks about Google Play Pass and on September 10, 2019, there was an official teaser of Google Play Pass was shared. On the same day, Apple announced the release date of Apple Arcade. Since Apple vs Google rivalry is of great interest, so today we will look into Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass.

Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass: Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade is a subscription service where you can pay to play a bundle of games. Apple Arcade costs $5 a month which is the lowest of all the subscription services by Apple. It makes it more affordable than the likes of video streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+, and gaming services like PlayStation Plus, Humble Bundle, and Xbox Games Pass. As minor as $5 tag is, it is attractive likewise. But if you think this is it, then you are wrong. You haven’t gone to the other features yet.

In addition to the library of games that you get in the subscription, that we will go to later, all the games are free from the crap of in-app purchases. So you will not have a problem accessing your progress. Not only that, there would be no timers to gate your gameplay and no annoying ads of any kind. So you get everything hassle-free. $5 is not a bad thing for the relief from all such atrocities. Not yet, no, it is not finished. Yes, you can even play the games offline so no problem if you have no internet connection. You can even share your account with up to six family members via Apple’s Family Sharing service.

Coming to the games, there would be 50 games at the launch. While Apple claims that more than 100 games are in development stages. High profile studios are working over them. These 50 games at the launch include:

Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree
Beyond a Steel Sky
Box Project
Cardpocalypse
Doomsday Vault
Down in Bermuda
Enter The Construct
Fantasian
Frogger in Toy Town
Hitchhiker
Hot Lava
Kings of the Castle
Lego Arthouse
Lego Brawls
Lifelike
Little Orpheus
Mr. Turtle
Monomals
No Way Home
Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm
Overland
Projection: First Light
Repair
Sayonara Wild Hearts
Shantae 5
Sneaky Sasquatch
Sonic Racing
Spidersaurs
The Artful Escape
The Pathless
The Bradwell Conspiracy
UFO on Tape: First Contact
Where Cards Fall
Winding Worlds
Yaga
Apple claims that some of the titles are exclusive to Apple Arcade. Google makes a claim of similar sorts, we will talk about it later. But keep it in mind that only mobile versions of such games are meant here. As some of the games have PC versions too. Also, Apple Arcade exclusive games cannot be purchased separately on the App Store. Apple Arcade would only be available iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. So much for Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass. Apple Arcade is yet available in the US only but said to be available in other regions soon.

Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass: Google Play Pass

Google Play Pass costs the same $5. But with that, you can access over 350 premium apps. Yes, I said ‘apps’. Which means it is not limited to games. There would be many games as well as other apps for you. And there would be no in-app purchases and no ads of any kind. These are some similar features as the Apple Arcade. But there are many differences as well. Firstly, as I have mentioned, it is not limited to games, there would also be many other apps as well. Like Accuweather, Pic Stitch image editor, and more.

All of the apps and games on the services are accessible on all Android devices, and you can even share the account with 5 users. But they should have a Google account. Most of the games and apps in the first batch of 350 are already available on the Play Store. And some are even available on iOS. So there is no exclusivity in Google Play Pass. It also means that you can purchase apps separately if you are not a Play Pass subscriber.

So if you take an overview. in addition to the selling price, the number of apps in the service is also the main point of attraction for people. But Google has another treat up its sleeve(I know it is not good enough). Google Introduced a special offer according to which you can get Google Play Pass subscription in $1.99 per month for the whole first year. Offer is not available anymore but it is a good catch. After one year, the service will cost $4.99.

Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass: Verdict

I would not urge you to choose one over the other.  Nor I would say that one is better than the other. I can only point out the main features of the both services. Which I did. Now it would be very easy for you to decide which service is better for you. Apple Arcade Vs Google Play Pass is not that big battle. If you are looking for deciding features then you should know that Apple Arcade would support controllers and you could play games even when offline.

If you are looking for a suggestion to update your phone, then you are free to do that too. Both services cost the same. Apple Arcade offers exclusivity while Google apps may be available commonly. Also, I would suggest you wait before purchasing a new mobile. Let both services be mature so that you can decide easily. Maybe both the services release a killer offer in the future that would make your favorite apps cheaper. Google Play Pass offers a large library of apps while Apple Arcade is all about gamers who love games.
